Recognising the fear, upset and loneliness faced by individuals undergoing cancer treatment and their loved ones, the duo were determined that their charity would make a real difference. They set about sourcing donations, packaging and delivering gifts, whilst giving support to patients on oncology wards. Today, the team has almost 50 volunteers and hundreds of regular supporters delivering over 2,500 gifts to fourteen hospitals in the Midlands every month. Van Gogh is today one of the most popular of the Post-Impressionist painters, although he was not widely appreciated during his lifetime. He is now famed for the great vitality of his works which are characterised by expressive and emotive use of brilliant colour and energetic application of paint. The traumas of his life, documented in his letters, have tended to dominate and distort modern perceptions of his art. Tutor - Liddy graduated from Derby University in 2005 after gaining a BA Hons Degree in Illustration. She completed her PGCE before embarking on a 10 year secondary school art teaching career in Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire. She is currently undertaking a course in the History of Art. Liddy left teaching to start her own business Something Less Boring in 2017 to bring art and sport to a wider audience Liddy lives in Buckinghamshire delivering art and creative drawing workshops as well as relaxing Sip & Paint evenings. American artist Keith Haring was best known for his graffiti-inspired drawings, which he first made in subway stations and later exhibited in museums. As a child, Haring was fascinated by the cartoon art of Walt Disney and Charles Schultz and the illustrations of Dr. Seuss. In just an hour this during relaxing felting class, you will learn the basics of transforming something as simple as wool into a beautiful work of art. With her expert guidance, you'll learn how to fuse wool fibres into beautiful shapes and blend colours to create depth and texture. We’ll guide you through each layer whilst teaching you the history & purpose behind each aspect of the terrarium. You can let your creative side flourish and build your terrarium however you desire. We’ll supply you with a beautiful range of terrarium specific plants to ensure your eco system has the healthiest future ahead! We love coming to Brewpoint so much, we decided to make a weekly visit too! Running from 10am to 12noon we'll provide all the materials for you to paint the week's theme, expertly guided by Liddy. Grab yourself a coffee, have a natter and get creative...maybe stay for a spot of lunch? Our weekly art clubs are very relaxed and social there's no necessity to join us every week to enjoy the sessions we will fully work through a painting at each morning event.
