  • Remote Art Club - Liddy's Beach

    Join Liddy to paint her abstracted beach painting. She will gently guide you through the steps to complete this lovely work What do I need?   • Pencil Drawing - The Duckling

    Join wildlife artist Naomi to create the lovable Duckling in pencil In this small group course you will start with basic coloured pencil techniques, learn how to create fur and layers and then create your own wildlife artwork to take home. Over two evenings (4th July and 18th July) you will learn some fabulous pencil techniques to create realistic fur and hair, skin and eyes too. Then you will embark on your own Duckling pencil drawing with ample time for Naomi to guide you along the way. A great session for those who would like to try their hand at wildlife drawing and learn how to work with colouring pencils Please feel free to being along your own refreshments Your tutor in her own words: My name is Naomi and I am a self-employed artist based in Milton Keynes, UK. I specialise in colour pencil to create unique, detailed and vibrant portraits of pets and animals. I graduated from University with a BA (Hons) in Illustration in the summer of 2016. Since then, I've been busy with commissions, working on my portfolio as well as showcasing my artwork at exhibitions and local craft events!​I have always loved art and animals so I'm very grateful to have turned my hobby into a business, working closely with my customers, bringing joy through bespoke commissions and sending artwork all over the world. I tend to focus on animals because I am very passionate about illustrating the beauty of wildlife and raising awareness about animal issues through my work.

    Van Gogh is today one of the most popular of the Post-Impressionist painters, although he was not widely appreciated during his lifetime. He is now famed for the great vitality of his works which are characterised by expressive and emotive use of brilliant colour and energetic application of paint. The traumas of his life, documented in his letters, have tended to dominate and distort modern perceptions of his art.     Join Liddy to paint the delightful Dabbling Ducks in watercolour in the comfort of your own home, Gently guided by Liddy, you'll need watercolour paper, watercolour paints in primary colours plus black and white and a selection of brushes including a detail brush. Liddy is the creative force and main tutor with Something Less Boring. She is a qualified Illustrator and also a qualified teacher. Liddy taught art for over 10 years at secondary school level before leaving to found Something Less Boring in 2017 with the aim of bringing art and sport to all ages regardless of ability in a fun, creative and inclusive way. Since April 2020 we estimate that Liddy has taught close to 500 online art sessions In her own words: "From as long as I can remember I have always dreamt about being an artist and illustrator. My passion has always been for art and I have always enjoyed being creative. Some of my fondest childhood memories are those spent with my siblings creating stories, drawing illustrations and making books. I guess it was from here that a profound love for all things creative was born and nurtured."
